Anita Levesque

Co-Founder

Anita resides in Stoney Creek (Hamilton), Ontario.  She is self-employed as a web and graphic designer, since 2005.  Anita provides the following services: web design, graphic design, internet marketing, social media marketing and hosting. She is also a photographer, from a hobby to now professional.

Anita started as a mental health advocate in 2014 and volunteers and is ambassador for Partners for Mental Health, Mental Health Commission of Canada, SickNotWeak, NNMH, Healthy Minds Canada, Born This Way Foundation (Lady Gaga). Anita is also a mental health blogger for Healthy Minds Canada, The Mighty, KMA Therapy (Toronto), Defying Shadows, Stigma Magazine (BC).  Anita is a Change Agent for CAMH and has participated in the One Brave Night for the last 2 years and has been involved with the Bell Let’s Talk campaign for the last 4 years.

Anita is very knowledgeable with mental health based on her lived experience.  Her father lived with manic depression (Bipolar) all his life.  Because of witnessing violent domestic abuse from her father, her brother now lives with C-PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, her mother lives with C-PTSD and Depression and Anita lives with C-PTSD.  Anita’s boyfriend also lives with severe OCD, Clinical Depression, GAD and several personality disorders.

Anita is taking a diploma program in Psychology/Social Work and another diploma program in Counseling Skills.

This heightened Anita’s knowledge of mental illness and wanting to help enhance the mental health awareness to everyone.

Darcy Patrick - Creative Writing

For 25 or more years Darcy was a professional bass player playing in many types of bands, teaching and making a living from music. At the same time also working full time in a music store. In 2013 the perfect storm happened in his life and pushed him over the edge. He had struggled for over 38 years from depression and had to make a call for help! Which was on of the hardest things he had every done. Since Starting therapy 7 years ago he has become an author of 3 books “Why I Run” My story of how I won my life back from the darkness of depression, “Creative Writing For The Mind Body and Soul”, “My Guided Meditation “and “The Big Let Go”. Since the release of Creative Writing For The Mind, Body & Soul, Darcy has brought it to life teaching the 5 sections of the book as a 4 night course for different mental health and addiction organizations. He has also Turn “My Guided Meditation” and “The Big Let Go” into courses as well teaching all over Southern Ontario. He has also become a public speaker doing talks all over southern Ontario. With the hopes that telling his story will inspire change. let people know they are not alone, that they way they feel emotion is the same way he feels emotion. And if he can change so can they! Darcy now lives a life of purpose, that purpose is helping as many people as he can, breaking the stigma behind depression. “Only with open conversation can we break the stigma behind depression, let’s start talking and do it together!”

I truly believe I was put on this earth to help others. I myself have been on both the giving and receiving end of help in my life, this I feel gives me some insights on how difficult it can be to ask for help when we most need it. I bring compassion, empathy and a vast knowledge of community services to the table and look forward to making a difference in our community.

Ace Piva - Peer Support for Musicians

OTB FOUNDING PARTNER / TOUR MANAGER / ADDICTION RECOVERY COACH

A certified addictions worker who’s been involved in the music industry since 1996, Ace Piva knows the ins and outs of the road and its associated pressures and struggles. He’s been there as a musician, tour manager, stage manager, sound engineer, production manager, and addictions recovery coach. Today, Piva is a founding partner, of Over The Bridge. His goals are to help break the stigmas associated with addiction and mental illness through education, awareness, and support and provide resources to musicians, crew and entertainment professionals.

Hobbies: Cycling, listening to motivational audio books and WWE wrestling.

Favourite Artists: Faith No More, Devin Townsend, Ghost, Guns N’ Roses.
